Field of the Invention This invention relates to energy attenuation, and more specifically to attenuating energy in selected directions in a multidirectional energy field. 2. Description of the Prior Art It is known in the art to attenuate energy in a multidirectional energy field by, for example, utilizing reflectors to redirect energy back to the source, or by the use of conductors (e.g., grids or prisms) which reflect or absorb the energy, and various combinations of reflectors and conductors to redirect the energy. For example, U.S. Pat. No. 2,543,919 issued to Johnson on Jan. 5, 1951 teaches the use of a radiation shield in the form of a plurality of conducting surfaces. The surfaces are arranged to have divergent angles of incidence for radiation received by the shield to impinge thereon from a first direction, and convergent angles of incidence for the radiation received by the shield to impinge thereon from a second direction. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the first direction is generally parallel to the axis of the shield, and the second direction is generally perpendicular to the axis of the shield. In a second preferred embodiment of the invention, the first direction is generally perpendicular to the axis of the shield, and the second direction is generally parallel to the axis of the shield. In the second preferred embodiment, there is no provision for variation of the angles of incidence with changing energy levels, as may occur when the energy level increases. U.S. Pat. No. 2,547,622 issued to Donaldson on Apr. 27, 1951 teaches the use of a plurality of radiation reflecting conductive surfaces,
