Week 4 of summer missions has come to a close. Last week was the final week of missions in Fairmont, North Carolina this summer. Youth from Gateway Bible Church blessed the community of Fairmont and shared the sufficiency of the Lord in all things. A member of the Fairmont community joined the Gateway youth group and had the opportunity to participate in a mission trip in her own community.

During worksite last week, the team put the final touches on the deck and ramp that we began building the previous week. The community members that we were able to bless were so grateful and the team was able to share the love of the Father by completing this ramp for them. The missionaries were also able to help put insulation into the Chapel at Camp4Heroes. This building is a place where the truth of the Gospel is made known to veterans and first responders that visit the camp. The missionaries have made a lasting impact on the camp and provided a safe place for meditation on Scripture.
Throughout the week, the students were impacted by the Gospel. Specifically, the students learned about the Lord's power in all things. In 2 Corinthians 12:9&10 the Apostle Paul says "But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong." The Lord encouraged the student missionaries with the truth that His grace is sufficient in their weaknesses.
Community outreach this past week was to continue the VBS in the Fairmont housing community. The kids in the community enjoyed time playing sports and completing crafts, all while hearing about God's love for them. The joy of the Lord was evident on the faces of the student missionaries as they served these kids.
The youth from Gateway Bible Church had the honor of hearing Captain Woody from Camp4Heroes share his testimony. The evidence of the Lord's goodness in Captain Woody's life is a witness to God's character. The students will carry this truth with them throughout their walks with Him.
We are so grateful for the time we were able to spend in Fairmont this summer and for the many missionaries who confronted difficult conditions to serve the Lord and the community. We are looking forward to what the Lord will do in Hampton Roads throughout the rest of summer missions.
